✈️ Nov 19–29: This November, we will take our five-year-old on a trip to Okinawa—and it will be the perfect choice! Just 2h20 from Seoul, Safe, close, and full of hands-on experiences, Okinawa isn’t just about lounging at a resort. There’s plenty to see, do, and explore, making it perfect for curious little travelers.
Schedule
Day 1 – Arrival & Staying in Naha
We arrived in Okinawa and spent the day exploring Naha city. Strolling through local streets, enjoying some casual eats, and soaking in the city vibe was a gentle introduction for our little traveler.
Day 2 – American Village & Heading to Zanpa
Before heading to our resort in Zanpa, we stopped by the lively American Village. Colorful shops, waterfront views, and fun little attractions made it a great spot to stretch our legs and enjoy some snacks before settling into the resort.
Day 3 – Mercure Zanpa & Nearby Attractions
We spent the day exploring the beauty around Mercure Zanpa. Starting with the stunning views at Cape Zanpa, we enjoyed the fresh ocean breeze and dramatic cliffs. Later, we visited Yomitan Pottery Village for a fun, hands-on pottery experience—perfect for a little creative family time. The afternoon was all about relaxation, either soaking up the sun at nearby beaches or lounging by the resort pool, letting the little one splash around while we unwound.
Day 4 – Churaumi Aquarium Afternoon Adventure
After checking out from Mercure Zanpa, we enjoyed a casual lunch nearby before heading to the Churaumi Aquarium. The afternoon was full of marine magic: the feeding show delighted our little one, the dolphin performance brought smiles all around, and we were mesmerized by the whale sharks and manta rays gliding gracefully. For those with extra time, a quick stop at Kouri Island or Cape Manzamo adds beautiful seaside scenery to the day.
Day 5 – Scenic Manzamo & Pineapple Fun
We started the day at Cape Manzamo, taking in the breathtaking cliffside views. Next, it was a sweet adventure at Nago Pineapple Park, tasting fresh pineapples and exploring the vibrant farm. The day wrapped up back at Mercure Naha, where we enjoyed a relaxed evening stroll and dinner, soaking in the city atmosphere.
Day 6 – Dad Heads Home, More Fun with the Little One
On Day 6, Dad flew back to Korea, while my child and I stayed for six more days of adventure. We planned to enjoy more hands-on experiences, explore new spots, and soak in everything Okinawa has to offer—just the two of us making memories and having fun together.
Okinawa turned out to be a perfect mix of adventure and relaxation for families. For little explorers, it’s a place to play, learn, and make memories—without the stress of long flights or safety worries.
What’s Next? Counting Down to Okinawa
Travel planning isn’t just about booking hotels and flights—it’s also about keeping track of every little detail. From figuring out where we’ll stay to mapping out fun stops, we made sure every plan is mom-approved and kid-friendly.
To stay organized (and maybe a little extra hip 😎), I’m logging all our expenses one by one: hotels, meals, attractions, and little treats along the way. It’s kind of like a mini travel diary before the adventure even begins!
There’s something so satisfying about seeing the numbers add up and knowing exactly how our dream trip is coming together. Plus, it makes sharing our journey on the blog way easier—so you can follow along without missing a beat.
Travel prep may feel like work, but with a little organization and a lot of excitement, it’s already feeling like a memorable part of the adventure.
